A 4 day safari to Uganda involving gorilla trekking, cultural tours and relaxation at lake Bunyonyi.
Day 1: From Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community visit
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Pick up by your driver guide after your breakfast from your hotel in Kampala and transfer to the southwestern part of Uganda on Kampala-Masaka road. You will stop at Kayabwe where you will buy crafts, souvenirs and also pose for photo at the equator. From there continue with the journey with another stop in Mbarara Town for lunch. Thereafter, proceed to Bwindi, through the rolling spectacular Kigezi highlands. Bwindi is a well-known habitat for half of the remaining number of endangered mountain gorillas.
It covers an area of 331sqkm and besides gorillas, over 120 mammal species, 400 plants species, 202 butterfly species, and over 350 bird species are recorder in the Park.Upon arrival, check in that the lodge of your choice where you will have dinner and an overnightstay as you await for the next day to track the gentle giants.
Have an early hefty breakfast by 6:30am, afterproceed to the park head office by 7.30am local timewhere the Park Wardens will brief you about the trek. From the lodge ensure that you carried packed lunch,drinking water, snacks, a rain jacket, a waterproof camera and hiking shoes.
You will be allocated a gorilla family to track. Besides watching gorillas, there are also other wildlife species you can see such as bush pigs, elephants, baboons, chimpanzees, monkeys, antelopes and various bird species.
When you meet the gorillas, you are allowed to be with them for only one hour, you can take enough photos though your camera shouldn’t have a flash. While with them you give them a distance of 5metres, this is fry their safety since they can easily contract diseases form human beings. You will surely have a great time watching the silverbacks, the young ones being fed by mothers and the juveniles, it is a rewarding experience.
The trek may take 2 to 8hours, and however long or short the trek is, it is still worth youreffort. After trekking you could go back to your lodge or visit the Batwa community, to learn more about their culture and be entertained by their traditional dances and songs. This community is worth visiting. Later head back to the lodge for dinner and rest.
After breakfast, depart from Bwindi and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, it is an outstanding tourist attraction. The word Bunyonyi is a local word that means small birds”, this is because this areaharbors a number of birds and hence a great place for birders. Upon arrival you will go for canoeing alongthe Lake where you will see spectacular landscapes and a number of islands like the Bwama Island which is a birder’s paradise.
You could also go for a nature walk instead of a canoe ride because both of these activity give you an extraordinary and unforgettable experience.Later,visit Bunyonyi Adventure Park, there are a number of activities you can engage in like zip lining over the lake. You can also go swimming in the Lake since it is recommended for swimming since it is Bilharzia free.
Check in at the lodge of your choice, have dinner and overnight.
Have breakfast from your lodge and set out to visit the spectacular Ruvuma swamp, you will walk to the northern end of Lake Bunyonyi. This area is home to beautiful bird species including the Papyrus yellow warbler. Later, embark on your journey back to Kampala arriving in the late evening.
