Overview
Five days built around the world’s most powerful waterfall, where the entire Nile explodes through a seven-metre gorge. We pair private boat safaris among hippos, crocodiles and the elusive shoebill with big-game drives across the Albertine savannah — all from a luxury lodge on the river’s southern bank.
Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe to Murchison
A scenic light-aircraft flight north over the Victoria Nile, with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary possible for road travellers. Sundowners on your private deck above the river.
Day 2: The Falls, Top and Bottom
A morning cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, then a guided hike to the top — where the Nile’s thunder shakes the ground beneath your feet.
Day 3: Big Game on the North Bank
Game drives across the Buligi peninsula for elephant, Rothschild’s giraffe, lion and oribi, with the Blue Mountains of Congo on the horizon.
Day 4: The Nile Delta & the Shoebill
A slow boat through the papyrus delta in search of Africa’s strangest bird — the prehistoric shoebill — plus great herds drinking at the water’s edge.
Day 5: Return to Entebbe
One last dawn over the river, then your flight south for onward connections.
