Tamarind Tree Hotel

Tamarind Tree sits off Langata Road on the Carnivore grounds, in gardens on the southern edge of Nairobi, a short drive from Wilson Airport where the light aircraft leave for the Mara.

Why We Love It

Geography does the work. Most Kenya trips land at Jomo Kenyatta late at night and fly out of Wilson early the next morning, and this sits between the two, roughly twenty minutes from one and a few kilometres from the other. You arrive tired and you are not fighting across the city at dawn.

The Experience

A hundred and fifty two rooms, two pools, a gym and an art gallery on site, with the Tamambo restaurant and Dawa bar handling dinner. Nairobi National Park, the Giraffe Centre, the Karen Blixen Museum and the Sheldrick elephant nursery are all within a few kilometres if you have a spare morning.
