Mahali Mzuri

Twelve space-age tented suites curve along a valley ridge in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, their sail-like canopies looking down on a stage through which the great herds pour each season. Mahali Mzuri means ‘beautiful place’ in Swahili — Sir Richard Branson never was one for understatement.

Why We Love It

The conservancy model at its best: a fraction of the Mara reserve’s vehicles, off-road approaches to the big cats, night drives and bush walks the reserve cannot offer — with the reserve itself just next door when the crossings call.

Expect lion prides on the doorstep (the Marsh Pride’s descendants among them), an infinity pool over the valley, a spa tent, and Maasai guides whose families have walked this land for generations.

Need to Know
